There's nothing improper or unconstitutional about public officials granting more leeway for Christmas symbols than for accoutrements to the comic TV holiday "Festivus." The very idea of government of the people, by the people and for the people suggests official reflection of the values and preferences of the vast majority, as long as that reflection (in Justice Story's words) is "not incompatible with the private rights of conscience and the freedom of religious worship."
When bureaucrats join the public in rejecting the Big Lie of a traditionally secular America, we can all proceed to relish the joys of the beautiful Christmas season with less confusion and controversy than the "equal access" obsessives typified by those benighted bozos in Washington State.

I'm thinking I may invest in his book "The 10 Big Lies About America" after conferring with the wife. If this entry is evidence of what is in the book, it will come in handy in trying to promote the conservative message.

Kennedy 2016?
Yup, I'm calling it now. Caroline Kennedy will run as president in 2016. By that time Hillary will be too old, and Kennedy will have 8 years in the Senate (assuming that she gets Hillary's Senate seat). The people alive during the first Kennedy's administration, as children, will be influential on how the "Return to Camelot" campaign will be run.
This will be an interesting turn of events, as I still see Palin getting the nomination in 2012 after big GOP gains in Congress in 2010 and 2012. If Obama does get elected for a second term, Palin will probably drop out at the federal level, but only after bringing the party back to its conservative roots. Jindal will rise up in 2016 against Kennedy making for a really interesting scenario. Jindal with a solidified base against Kennedy who will also represent a solidified base. Assuming that the country stays center-right, I believe that people will have had enough of the Obama "Slimalot" administration and swing right, giving the win to Jindal. We then will see a split country, but a solidified conservative base with power in the White House and Congress. (One can only guess what the judicial will look like during that time.) If the Republicans can actually be responsible (and I think under Palin or Jindal, they can with proper motivation from the White House), we're looking at the potential for true conservative initiatives being pushed through. Finally we might see progress.
Sometimes I feel like Sylar when it comes to my political hunger. ;)
